Monanthes occurs as genus of small, succulent, subtropical plants of the Crassulaceae family. It chiefly develop in the Canary Islands, with a select few incurred in Madeira.

Monanthes are non frost-insubordinate. It is linked by owning a genera Sempervivum, Greenovia, Aichryson and Aeonium, which is obvious from either their similar flowers.
